Lot #929 - Along with being the first year Ford offered 4x4 (four wheel drive) the F-100 received an attractive face lift including the signature "FORD" name in big block letters across the hood. The interior featured new upholstery that was color keyed to the exterior, a white steering wheel with chrome horn ring and a two-tone instrument panel. ford also introduced four new exterior colors that could be combined with the Colonial White creating a stunning two-tone appearance. When ford entered the factory 4x4 field, Willys controlled 64.7% of the market. By the end of 1959 ford had secured 31% market share proving it was a force to be reckoned with.
