Lot #1025 - Concourse restored. Black, White, and Saddle. Automatic, A/C Immediate gratification to be garnered from this concourse restored 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible. She is serial number 2750. Well documented in the Shelby Registry. Flawlessly finished in her original colors: very rare Raven Black, Saddle Interior, and a White Top; 2750 is as elegant as designer tuxedo. Equipped as she left the factory with all the Shelby equipment (power disk brakes, power steering, competition handling package, shoulder harnesses, integrated roll bar, deluxe interior, unique console and gages, and tilt / tilt away steering column) plus selected options of an automatic transmission, air conditioning and tinted glass. Although not installed at the factory, #2750 has worn original Shelby 10 spoke alloy rims for as much of her history that can be traced. An original owners manual (signed by Carroll Shelby) and copies of several documents included. Sold new in Dallas, Texas from Horn Williams Motor Co; this 1968 GT500 convertible has had resided in Texas, California, and Florida. Her current owner purchased her due to the rarity of this beautiful Shelby and her rust free condition. A complete, documented concourse restoration of more than 1,000 hours was completed in July 2006 by Shelby and Mustang specialist; Jeff James: Tri-City Mustang Restoration, Inc. All components disassembled, inspected, and restored / replaced to achieve an as new condition. All original body panels and fiberglass retained. All Shelby unique parts restored / retained. Engine confirmed to be VIN stamped and original to #2750. Extreme level of detail invested to duplicate all factory finishes and markings. Even higher level of attention to detail maintained to satisfy her current owner, a chief engineer in the automotive industry. Passenger side dashboard inscribed and signed by Carroll Shelby: #2750 "Only the Best Wear Black" Carroll Shelby. Ford production statistics related to this rare Shelby indicate #2750 is one of one featuring this color - option combination of Raven Black Exterior, Saddle Interior, White Top, GT500, Automatic with A/C. Beautiful and comfortable to drive top up or down. Since her restoration, #2750 has only been shown at one MCA affiliated club show where she won Best of Class - Shelby as well as Best of Show - Mustang All.
