Description
Lot #702 - This 1972 De Tomaso Pantera is the original car from the "Fast Five" movie - the fifth film in the "Fast & Furious" franchise - most notably the very car used in the iconic train theft scene that included Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. It is powered by a 351ci Cleveland engine fitted with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Carter 750 carburetor, thermostatic electric radiator fan and MSD electronic ignition. The engine is bolted to a ZF 5-speed manual transmission with a new clutch. The car is restored to movie-correct brilliant black paint with white graphics, tinted windows and added new Vader power window motors. The original movie car's 17-inch Campagnolo wheels were polished and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The black interior includes an aftermarket battery shutoff and roll bar for stunt safety and camera mounting. The headlights, brake lights, turn signals and reverse lights all work normally. The spare tire, luggage rack, air conditioning, heater motor and windshield wipers have been removed. The owner acquired the car in 2013 from a Universal Studios consigner, and after the purchase it was restored it to drivable and collectible condition, including some engine repair, complete repaint to fix scratches, new carpet and reinstalling the exterior mirror. A Deluxe Marti Report comes with the purchase.
