Lot #87 - This 1967 Plymouth GTX retains its factory 440ci Super Commando engine with a new complete exhaust system, mated to a 727 automatic transmission. It is equipped with the correct 8.75-inch rear end with a 3.25 Sure-Grip bushing, along with a recored original 936 radiator, detailed engine compartment, rechromed bumpers and polished stainless steel. It rides on powder-coated Plymouth steel wheels with poverty caps and new red line tires. This GTX features power steering, an AM radio, bucket seats and a new interior. The Plymouth GTX was introduced as the Belvedere GTX in 1967 by the Plymouth division. It was based on the Belvedere, but was differentiated by a blacked-out grille and special rear fascia, fiberglass simulated hood scoops with optional racing stripes and a chrome pop-open fuel filler cap. The GTX was positioned as a gentleman's muscle car and came equipped with a Plymouth 440ci 7.2-liter V8 engine called the Super Commando 440 rated at 375hp and 480 ft/lbs of torque. It goes from 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 14 seconds at 96.5 mph.
