Lot #676.1 - This custom 1961 Chevrolet Corvette was professionally built by Billy Dawson's Corvette Correction. It was one of 10 Signature Series cars and built specifically for Billy Dawson as his personal car. This Corvette combines a 1961 Corvette body and a powder-coated Dawson chassis. It is powered by a 2008 Corvette 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine producing 430hp, paired with a TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission and a Dana 44 axle with a 3.45:1-gear differential. Its suspension is from a C4 Corvette, and the chassis enables a standard body to bolt on, unaltered. Alterations to the vehicle include a 1960-type toothed front grille, C5 Corvette door handles with electric locks, C7 Corvette chrome wheels and a custom-made exhaust system with a central 4-pipe outlet. The interior features AI Knoch custom leather heated seats, power windows, electric trunk release, Classic Instruments gauges with an electrically driven speedometer, a chrome-plated Ididit steering column and a Wonder Bar AM radio. The vehicle is also equipped with Vintage Air heating and air conditioning, along with a Be Cool radiator.
