Description
Lot #1394 - The Porsche 911R was a limited-production variant developed in the spirit of the 1967 homologation special of the same name. Styling was based on that of the contemporary 911 GT3, with construction elements borrowed from the GT3 RS, including a magnesium roof panel and a carbon-fiber hood. The model also featured a carbon-fiber decklid and front fenders, a model-specific front lip spoiler and rear underbody splitter, a retractable spoiler and an aluminum grille. The 911R was limited to just 991 examples for the world and was made for one year only, the 2016 model year. All 911Rs were numbered; this example is #375 out of 991. The dash plaque numbers each example made. This 2016 Porsche 911R is powered by a 4.0-liter water-cooled 6-cylinder engine producing 500hp and 339 ft/lbs of torque. This example is finished in white with red center stripes and black side stripes, as well as black Porsche script accents. Features include an extended-range fuel tank with a 23.9-liter capacity, front-axle lift system, air conditioning, Bose surround-sound system, SiriusXM satellite radio, NavTraffic, NavWeather and HD radio receiver, 911R stripes in red, auto-dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), that includes a navigation module and a speed-activated rear spoiler. Fitted to the 911 are silver 20-inch center-lock wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Adjustable suspension underpinnings and rear-axle steering were shared with the contemporary GT3, but were specially tuned for the 911R, which also featured yellow 6- and 4-piston monobloc calipers mounted over ceramic-composite rotors at each corner as standard equipment. Carbon-fiber-backed bucket seats are upholstered in black leather with Pepita cloth inserts and silver contrast stitching. The dashboard and door panels are trimmed in black leather, while carbon-fiber trim accents the dashboard, center console and door sills. Installed in this 911R is the single-mass flywheel and reinforced clutch matted to a model-specific 6-speed manual gearbox. The 911R was only offered in a manual gearbox, unlike the GT3 RS, which were all PDK transmissions. 915 actual miles.
