Description
Lot #1108 - This 1970 Chevrolet El Camino is powered by its original matching-numbers LS6 454/450 engine and optioned with the desirable Muncie M22 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission and a matching-numbers 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with 3.31 gears. For the 1970 model year, Chevrolet produced 4,000 cars with the infamous 450hp LS6 454ci V8 engine, but out of those thousands, only around 500 El Caminos were so-equipped. This vehicle was sold new at Courtesy Chevrolet in El Paso, TX, and was the recipient of a complete rotisserie restoration to factory specification, completed in March 2022. It is finished in a shade of Fathom Blue with white SS stripes and a rare cowl-induction hood. The vehicle was optioned with convenience features like power brakes and power steering and a 6,500 rpm tachometer in the dashboard. This El Camino is riding on a set of 14-inch 5-spoke SS wheels with Firestone Wide Oval tires. The interior is finished in medium blue with a split bench seat and features an AM radio and electric clock in the dashboard. This is a well-documented example and includes its original Build Sheet and GM Shipping Data Report, and is logged in the LS6 Registry. The vehicle has been inspected by expert Jerry MacNeish and comes with his Certificate of Authenticity.
