Description
Lot #116.1 - This is limited-production 1969 750cc Norton Dunstall Atlas underwent a recent complete professional restoration. Probably the most well-known Norton enthusiast from England is Paul Dunstall. He built, sold and raced modified Nortons with great success. Paul Dunstall was to Norton what Carroll Shelby was to Ford. New Nortons were delivered to Dunstall's shop in Southeast London, where they were stripped down completely to the frame and rebuilt to each customer's specifications. The frame was nickel-plated as an extra charge. Dunstall replaced many items, such as the gas tank, fenders, seat, rear wheel, exhaust, foot pegs, brake levers and more. Upgrades were made for improved handling and performance. The engines were stripped down and rebuilt with Dunstall-proven high-performance parts, which included pistons, camshaft, valve, valve springs and carburetors. This increased the horsepower from 49hp to 66hp. The 750 model did 0-60 in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph.
