Lot #648 - This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 has been through a frame-off restoration and is rust-free. Finished in enhanced LeMans Blue with broad black body stripes, it has power steering and brakes. The 396/375hp L78 engine, not original to the car, was rebuilt by a professional engine builder and retains the original steel crankshaft. The dyno test reading came in at 425hp. Paper details are included in the sale, along with other documentation and pictures of the rebuild. The odometer was replaced new at the time of the engine rebuild and reflects the actual engine miles. The rear axle is a GM 12-bolt with an aftermarket 4.10 gears. The exhaust manifolds have been ceramic-coated to prevent corrosion. The shifter on the Muncie M20 transmission been replaced with the much superior Hurst Competition/Plus shifter unit. The wheels and tires have been changed from the stock 14-inch to 15-inch to enhance the muscular stance, with the retention of stock appearance kept in mind. The exhaust is the rare Chevrolet chambered exhaust system. The suspension has stock heavy sway bars in the front and rear with ACDelco air shocks equipped on the rear. The interior is restored to new with the black vinyl Strato bucket seats and a factory console. The radio has been replaced with a custom Autosound AM/FM unit that looks stock and controls a 6-disc CD changer located in the trunk. Much attention to detail was paid in retaining the originality of the vehicle during the build. This vehicle has been held in a private collection since 2013. Binder included with photos, title history, frame, body and engine compartment photos. Miscellaneous parts and several technical and rebuild manuals are included in the sale, as well as a spare tire with a cover and tire tool.
