Lot #1351 - This multiple award-winning 1951 Hudson Wasp was customized by Kenny's Rod Shop (KRS) of Boise, ID. Based on a KSR-built custom frame, this classic Hudson rides on Fox front coilovers plus RideTech Shockwave air shocks and a custom 4-link setup to the rear, with stopping via Wilwood 13-inch disc brakes. Body modifications include shaved trim and hardware plus subtly reshaped body panels, added driving lights to the smoothed front bumper, modified headlight rings, frenched '37 Ford taillights and flush-mounted rear-fender skirts. Deep black paint was applied by Shawn McNally of Regenerated Rides in Nampa, ID, enhanced by Cerakote Bronze ceramic coating to the grille, bumpers, engine components and Schott billet wheels. Power is delivered by a 2004 Dodge Viper V10 engine mounting an aluminum Hogan intake and big-bore throttle body and breathing out through a KRS-fabricated exhaust system. A Lokar-shifted 6-speed manual transmission delivers the power to a 3.89:1 Ford 9-inch rear axle. The full-custom interior features Chrysler 300 bucket seats, with brown leather and gray Alcantara upholstery from Interior Revolutions. Vintage-appearing storage cases replace the rear seat, and the matching trunk houses a 28-gallon custom fuel tank. Other highlights include a '55 Hudson gauge cluster with Classic Instruments gauges, a late-model Corvette steering column and wheel, a custom console, Kenwood audio system, GPS, Restomod Air air conditioning and fully upholstered rear-wheel tubs. Following completion, the Hudson created a sensation everywhere it appeared, earning multiple honors in 2019, including a Top 5 Pick at the Goodguys Pleasanton, CA, show, plus selection as a Custom Rod of the Year Finalist at the Loveland, CO, Goodguys show. At the Reno, NV, Hot August Nights festivities, the Hudson took Best of Show at the Atlantis Casino Resort, and it was inducted to the Gold Cup Award Top 5.
