Description
Lot #688.1 - Built by PDRA drag racing legend Tommy D'Aprile at his Florida shop, this 1960 Chevrolet C10 pickup was a complete frame-off Pro-Touring build that took four years with just 16 shake-down miles. The entire truck has all new components other than the original frame rails and cab. Power comes from a finely tuned 6.2-liter supercharged LSA engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator with an electric fan and breathes through Hooker manifolds feeding a custom exhaust system. The frame has been customized and strengthened to handle the added horsepower, and the front has been fitted with coilover suspension, tubular control arms, a sway bar and CPP Mustang II power rack & pinion steering. The rear end is a trailing arm system with performance shocks and coil springs, Panhard bar and adjustable pivot locations. It features Wilwood disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. Engine bay customizations include a smoothed firewall and satin black custom inner fender aprons. The interior has a Vintage Air climate-control system, custom retro digital/analog gauges, a RetroSound audio system and Flaming River tilt column. This custom pickup rides on 18-inch Detroit Steel Smoothies wrapped in Nitto tires, has a full-size side-mounted spare tire, all new trim, glass, seals, all new LED lighting, and a hand-cut and -finished wood bed.
