Description
Lot #1413 - The first hybrid supercar was limited to a total worldwide production of just 375 cars. Exclusive and desirable from the start, the McLaren P1 sold out within months of orders opening. McLaren managed to build a car with impressive stats, 903 bhp (727 bhp from the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, and 176 bhp from the electric engine), 664 ft/lbs of torque, 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, 217 mph top speed, 1,322 pounds of downforce at 160 mph, with a curb weight of just 3,075 pounds and a brake steering system taken straight from Formula 1. On paper the numbers are staggering; on the road, this car delivers everything they promised and more. It is a true driver's car, built for both road and track. Originally destined for the McLaren dealer in Dusseldorf, Germany, in Supernova Silver, this dealer-owned McLaren P1 was subsequently acquired by ultra-VIP McLaren client and world-famous supercar collector Mr. Sam Lee (Instagram: @mwvmnw). Lee already had a very special McLaren P1 in Europe and wanted an identical P1 for North America. He commissioned MSO (McLaren Special Operations) in the U.K. to prepare this P1, chassis 24 of 375, to meet U.S. EPA and DOT requirements, and to refinish it in the McLaren Formula 1 racing team color "Racing Chrome." Sold new by McLaren in November 2013, records show this P1 was serviced at McLaren San Francisco on four occasions under past ownership. At 2,334 actual miles the consignor serviced the vehicle in August 2021 at McLaren Beverly Hills, who performed a high-voltage battery check, replaced a high-voltage circuit board, replaced the water pump, replaced the timing cover, replaced the accumulators and installed four new tires. An invoice from McLaren Beverly Hills totaling $44,685.83 is supplied by the consignor. Factory options included a Meridian surround sound system, racing seats in Slate Gray Alcantara, parking sensors, ceramic brakes with red calipers, Stealth Package and lots of exposed carbon fiber.
