Description
Lot #1041.1 - Referred to as "The Angry Antelope," this build's vision was to create the ultimate nostalgic Resto-Mod verses a contemporary Resto-Mod. This car looks like an era-correct hot rod from the '60s but has many modern upgrades, including an LS7/648hp V8 engine. As the Cowl Tag indicates, this car was originally born with a Fawn Beige exterior and Fawn interior. As the original Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan booklet indicates, this car was sold new by the Norwood Motor Company located in Warwick, RI, on May 20, 1961. This car was the recipient of a complete show-quality restoration. The car was refinished in its original color of Fawn Beige, which is complemented by a white side molding. The paint has been detailed to a beautiful shine. The tinted front windshield was replaced new. All the remaining tinted glass is original and in very good condition. Everything on the exterior - such as the window trim, mirror, door handles, antenna and bumpers - was replaced new. It's equipped with modern headlights, LED taillights and LS7 emblems. The car has a killer stance on era-correct-style American Racing Torq Thrust polished wheels with bullet center caps that match the taillights. The front wheels are 17x8-inch with BFGoodrich G-Force 245/40/17 tires. The rear wheels are 18x8 inches with BFGoodrich G-Force 255/45/18 tires. The interior was completely restored in its original Fawn color, which is gorgeous. The stylish interior is very spacious and comfortable, especially with the front bench seat. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced. Although the interior has modern upgrades, they were tastefully installed to keep the original appearance. Some of the custom features include Hush Mat insulation, Classic Instruments Hot-Rod gauges, Vintage Air climate control, Antique Automobile radio and four Pioneer speakers. The trunk compartment was refinished in the correct-style paint and carpeting. It's equipped with a correct full-size spare whitewall tire and tools. The highly detailed engine compartment was finished in Satin Black, and the Eddie Motorsports aluminum hood hinges and Undercover Innovations radiator support panel look excellent. It's equipped with new American Autowire wiring, braided lines and CPP 8-inch dual polished power brake booster with SSBC electric vacuum pump. It's powered by a Billy Briggs Racing Engines LS7 V8 with 648hp and 569 ft/lbs of torque. The engine was built with many high-performance parts, such as Diamond pistons, Oliver rods, Clevite bearings and COMP cam. It's equipped with a Street Performance LS7 wiring harness. The engine was outfitted with custom billet valve covers, Fast LSX-R 102mm intake, and BS3 system with transmission controls and pulley system. The front support was modified with outlet for the custom polished air intake to get extra air flow. The engine is cooled by a Griffith aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and aluminum overfill canister. The engine breathes through Street Performance ceramic headers and a custom mandrel-bent exhaust system. The engine is coupled to a new 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. It's equipped with a new Inland Empire drive shaft and DTS Custom Dana 60 Truetrac posi-traction rear end with 1350 Yoke, 35-spline axles and 3.54 gears.
