Lot #1581 - This 1971 Dodge Challenger is powered by a Dodge 440ci engine equipped with a GMC 671 blower backed by its factory 4-speed transmission. Equipped with a factory steel crankshaft, custom steel rods, forged pistons, Engle cam, Edelbrock aluminum heads, 7-quart oil pan, scatter proof bell housing, a high-performance clutch, aluminum radiator, front disc brakes, Strange Engineering Dana 60 rear end as well as a custom racing rear end suspension with 4.30 gear ratio. The interior features the original factory leather inserts, racing four-point harnesses on two front seats, a roll bar, tachometer and pistol-grip shift on the floor. Finished in House of Color black with House of Color flames, this Challenger was bought in June 1970 brand-new in Prescott, AZ. The custom rebuild started in 2000 and was completed in 2003. It has won First Place awards that include Best of Show, Best of Class and Best Engine all over the state of Arizona. Additionally, it has been featured twice in Goodguys magazine, once in 2019 and again in June 2010. Comes with every receipt from rebuild. Extra parts included.
