Description
Lot #556 - Designed by Hollywood legend Gene Winfield and built by Traditional Coach Works, this 1976 Cadillac Mirage is one of just 204 cars produced. Traditional Coach Works was the only coachbuilder allowed to make factory-sponsored alterations to vehicles sold at Cadillac dealerships. The Mirage is based on the Coupe De Ville platform. One of its unique and distinguishable features is the rear opera windows located behind the cab, which create a small covered space in the bed. This particular Mirage was sold by Plaza Motors in Palm Springs, CA. It sports the Mirage option of the "golf bag door." A limited number of vehicles featured this option. The car is powered by a 500ci engine that is mated to an automatic TH400 transmission. It has been with its second owner for over 30 years. The paint is original with minor blemishes. It comes equipped with power steering, brakes, windows, door locks, antenna, cruise control, tilt steering and power seats on both sides. There is storage behind the seats and a small "trunk" in the bed of the cab that holds the original spare tire. Though it has an aftermarket stereo, the original factory stereo is included with the sale. It has been garaged in California and Nevada for its entire existence. The driver's armrest and rear quarter-panel taillight extensions need repair. The car has 34,163 miles (the title reads mileage exempt).
