Description
Lot #1039 - This is a documented genuine factory-produced 1969 Ram Air IV GTO Judge that is also a "program car." In 1969 Pontiac motorsports and Jim Wagner initiated this special drag-racing program to get Carousel Red Judges onto the drag strips across America. This is one of those special-ordered Ram Air IV Judges. It is one of 58 Judges produced with the Ram Air IV 400ci V8 engine and Turbo 400 automatic transmission with 3.90 gears. It has undergone a no-excuses, full frame-off, rotisserie, nut-and-bolt professional restoration completed to the highest standards possible. The 400ci/370hp Ram Air IV engine (NOM) has been carefully restored to better-than-new condition, updated with H-beam rods and splayed billet 4-bolt main caps for a bulletproof bottom end. It retains its original, correct GM part numbered components, including the cylinder heads, carburetor, intake manifold, alternator and distributor. The car was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The frame was removed and the entire drivetrain was rebuilt, including the Nodular rear end with the (N) cast into the housing. The frame was stripped and all chassis components were replaced or refinished in the correct original factory manner. The body of this vehicle was gone over from front to back and the fit is exceptional, with outstanding panel gap fitment. Restored original GM hood and all Ram Air pans, down to original flappers, scoops, glove box emblem and rear spoiler. The interior was completely redone with the original moldings, correct materials and colors from Legendary Interiors with original GM headrests. The restoration on this Judge RA IV is nothing short of spectacular with great attention to detail, including the correct T3 headlamps, original JA-code Rally wheels with red line tires, correct labeled GM hoses with tower clamps, topped off with a correct-style Gardner show exhaust. This car comes with a complete set of PHS paperwork, Pontiac Window Sticker and original owner's manual.
