Description
Lot #313 - The 100th anniversary was a milestone for Harley-Davidson. It was also a great moment in U.S. history for an American company to see such great successes over an entire century. In celebration of this great accomplishment, Harley released several motorcycles bearing unique anniversary paint schemes and badges. This one-owner Sterling Silver and Vivid Black example is powered by an 88ci V-twin engine paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox and has been kept in collector condition. Ridden sparingly, the Harley has 766 actual miles and was purchased new in Houston, TX, in September 2003. The Harley was later upgraded with an additional $1,348 worth of accessories. It was then ridden very modestly until 2007, when it became a display piece in a warehouse of vintage collectibles. When acquired, it had not been driven in 12 years, and the front wheel had light surface rust. The entire fuel system was flushed, and the tank was cleaned and sealed. The fuel pump assembly was replaced, new plugs installed, new battery added and the Harley was fully detailed. The front wheel was replaced with a new one. With the exception of some light pitting on the forks, this Heritage Softail looks like it did when it was brand-new. The Dunlop whitewall tires are still in excellent condition.
