Description
Lot #105 - S4 production was only from 1987 to 1991. Made in Porsche's factory in Stuttgart, West Germany, in August 1987, this 928 is dressed in rare and hard-to-find Nougat Metallic (code LMV8 L40B F4) with a Coffee leather interior. Porsche power comes from a 5.0-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 engine (code M28/4x). The engine had new pistons, a new cylinder head with more aggressive camshafts, and larger valves and a 10.0:1 compression ratio. Backing up the engine is a 4-speed automatic transmission derived from a Mercedes-Benz design. For 1988, the transmission featured a larger torque convertor and a stronger torque rube with a 3mm-thicker center shaft. Porsche used a Weissach axle, a simple, passive rear-wheel steering system that increases stability while braking during a turn and helps achieve 50/50 front/rear weight distribution, aiding the car's balance. Driver convenience features are lengthy and include automatic climate control, power rack & pinion steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, sunroof, power sideview mirrors, power windows, power front seats, tilt steering column, remote hatch release and rear defroster. This car also has anti-lock brakes.
