Description
Lot #1359 - Featured on MotorTrend TV's show "Bitchin' Rides," this custom 1959 Buick Invicta was built by Kindig-it Designs and is known as "Blue Suede Shoes." This beautiful build took 18 months, 13,000 man-hours, and $715,000 to come to life. The car sits on an Art Morrison chassis with coilover shocks, tubular independent front suspension and a 4-link rear suspension, and is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine with custom finishings to match the curvatures of the hood as well as to resemble an original Buick Nailhead. The V8 is backed by a GM Performance 4L80E automatic transmission. This custom Buick rides on one-off EVOD wheels with wide whites built into them and features power-assist Wilwood brakes for stopping power. The body and trim customizations are complete with a cast-molded custom grille, tucked bumpers that pull into the body and door handles built into the side trim. The interior is fully custom and features blue suede and blue leather, with hand-cut lacing and tooled leather by JS Interiors in Salt Lake City. Additional features include custom Dakota Digital gauges, full Kicker IQ components and subwoofers, as well as power steering, power windows, locks and trunk. "Blue Suede Shoes" is known all around the nation with multiple SEMA Show appearances and has won numerous awards, including Top 5 Hot August Nights, Top 12 Finalist Goodguys Custom of the Year, Multiple Goodguys Builders Choice Awards, Best in Show Kool Deadwood Nights, Best in Show Counts Car Show, Top 5 Dickinson Car Show, and many other Best in Show or Best in Class accolades. There wasn't a show entered that an award wasn't received. This Buick is not only a head-turner at every show but also is quite roadworthy as well, with two 3,000-plus-mile road tours under its belt.
