Description
Lot #423 - This 1973 Corvette Custom Coupe is equipped with a modem drivetrain and upgraded suspension system while preserving the classic American Corvette skin. Modifications to the body include a one-off custom nose and grille, a smoothed firewall and engine bay, 4-inch cowl hood exaggerated body flares to add an aggressive appearance and one-off custom rocker moldings that transition the flares into the body. Additionally, the astro-ventilation grilles were eliminated and the rear spoiler extended 3/4 of an inch. The muscular C3 body is mated to a powder-coated chassis equipped with a Grand Touring Plus suspension system from Vette Brakes & Products Inc. This system includes tubular control arms, Bilstein shocks, heavy-duty front and rear sway bars, and a composite mono spring. This allows the driver to adjust the car in several settings to assure tight sports-car handling. Stopping power is provided by 2-piston calipers and 14-inch slotted rotors from a C5 in front, and the rear brakes are original C3-style calipers with slotted rotors. This 1973 Corvette is powered by a 485hp 5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine bolted to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. Riding on a set of 18-inch Boze rims, the C3's interior features a full navigation system with a Pioneer Stereo system, custom seats with matching door panels and a custom gauge package. This award-winning, magazine-featured Corvette comes with restoration build photos in a 3-ring binder.
