Lot #1100 - In 1970 1,371 428 Super Cobra Jet, 4 speed Mach 1s were built. 182 of them were Medium Blue, eight of them had the 4.30 Detroit Locker rear axle, and one of them had the convenience group. This is that car. This Mach 1 R-code 428 SCJ comes with a fully framed Elite Marti Auto Works Report. It was born a Mach 1 2-door Sport Roof fastback in Medium Bright Blue Metallic with black Clarion knit and Corinthian vinyl bucket seats. Options ordered included the 428ci Super Cobra Jet engine, close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, Drag Pack, Detroit Locker differential with 4.30 locking axle and Shaker hood. Other options include a black hood stripe, convenience group, AM/FM stereo, tinted glass, deluxe seat belts and warning light, tachometer, fold-down back seat, rear-window louvers and rear spoiler. The car was originally delivered ahead of schedule to Doug Bisbee Ford in Defiance, OH. This car was completely restored approximately five years ago and was then acquired by its current owner. It's been driven approximately 500-600 miles since then. The car has always been garaged and lived most of its life in Southern California. The engine was completely rebuilt by a NASCAR engine builder when the car was restored approximately five years ago. The factory locker rear locks as it turns, giving off a noticeable and correct clicking sound. The car is straight and solid, and the paint shows well. The undercarriage and engine bay are clean. The interior is clean and the original clock functions as it should. Performance modifications were added, including two aftermarket gauges below the original AM/FM radio, a front brake line lock, traction bars, subframe connectors, electric fuel pump, aluminum intake manifold, electronic ignition, high-performance cooling system and exhaust headers. This Mach 1 includes its original invoice, seat belts, radiator and owner's manual.
