Description
Lot #772 - A true Pro-Touring Chevelle, this 1970 custom coupe underwent a recent complete frame-off restoration and has too many upgrades to list. It starts with a rebuilt 454ci V8 engine mated to a TREMEC TKO 5-speed manual transmission and onto a 10-bolt rear end with 3.73 posi-traction. The FiTech fuel-injected big block features a COMP camshaft, pro roller lifters, a Milodon Performance high-volume oil pump, Tanks 20-gallon fuel tank and Lemons headers. The 454 snarls with aid from a custom Pypes X-pipe and 2.5-inch stainless-steel dual exhaust. Keeping the big V8 on ice is a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual fans, as well as a Vintage Air system to keep the climate controlled for occupants. A UMI Stage 2 suspension sits underneath, as well as a set of Wilwood disc brakes for stopping power. The Chevelle rides on 20-inch Vision American Muscle wheels clad in new rubber tires. Outside, the body features all-new front and rear bumpers contoured to hug the body, with smoked HID headlights and shaved door handles with keyless entry. The Chevelle was painted a dark metallic gray and includes contrasting SS-style silver stripes and badging. Inside, a fully customized interior with bucket seats features a set of Dakota Digital gauges placed in the custom dash with an Axxera Bluetooth CD/DVD touchscreen receiver with built in iPhone controls. Other amenities include push-button start, a billet Flaming River tilt column and steering wheel with a Ron Francis wiring kit, cruise control, smoked taillights, billet hood hinges and pedals, plus new smoke tinted glass. This well-executed Resto-Mod with 5,400 miles since completion was recently a part of the personal collection of Barrett-Jackson Executive Vice President/General Manager Nick Cardinale.
