Lot #1541 - Restored with great attention to detail. The car is finished in VW Coral Red with the correct German tan dot cloth interior. The interior materials were imported from Germany and sewn by a VW restoration shop. The body is laser straight and the paint is excellent. The vehicle features the original AM radio with ivory push buttons, German square weave carpet, original Volkswagen wheels with whitewall tires. The 1200cc 4-cylinder engine was professionally rebuilt to factory specs by an air-cooled engine specialist. All the rubber seals, chrome and stainless trim were replaced or restored to concours quality. The car runs and drives great. The original Yanase Japanese import plate is on the inside of the engine compartment and is in great condition with all stamps and writing legible. Volkswagens imported to Japan went through the Yanase Automobile Company.
