Description
Lot #1590 - Featuring 350ci of Dearborn power, “Black Thunder” combines the core strengths of originality with modern dynamics and top-notch components. This 1940 Ford Opera custom coupe is all steel and is beautiful inside and out. Since “Black Thunder” was selected as one of the top 100 Rods and Customs by Rod and Custom magazine, it has been carefully maintained, garaged and cherished. Although Black Thunder looks stock from the outside, except for the dual exhaust, was built as a growler. With a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a 350ci V8 engine attached to a Holley supercharger, it takes off like a cheetah and roars like a lion through the MagnaFlow exhaust, and headers. The front sits on a Mustang II independent suspension, and the back sits on a Corvette independent rear end. It is capped with tons of chrome with all the top components. Almost every component on the engine is shining and in great condition. It has Vintage Air. Black Thunder is painted a shiny black that glistens in the sun. The interior is finished in beautiful cream leather and has rear jump seats. Black Thunder features power steering, cut-off switch, AM/FM/CD, four-wheel disc brakes, aluminum radiator with electric fan, MSD electronic ignition system and three-point seat belts.
