Description
Lot #663 - In 1930 Cadillac had decided to mount its assault on Packard's lines, with the introduction of the V-16. Though plagued, as all luxury car manufacturers, by the effects of the stockmarket crash, Cadillac could still afford to invest in the new multi-cylinder engine technology, thanks to the relative strength of its behemoth parent General Motors. The V-16 displacing 452 cu.in. and producing 165 HP, would remain the power standard-bearer for Cadillac through 1940. By 1933 Cadillac V-16 offerings were down to ten Fleetwood models from 33 in the introductory year 1930. Total production for the year would be 126 of all styles. This car as Cadillac would term is the "All-Weather Phaeton" most other manufactures would call this style a Convertible Sedan. This is one of few known remaining examples. Leather interior. Completely restored auto, including engine. 250 miles since major overhaul. Judged 100 point car, First Place in CCCA 1998, First Place National Cadillac Club, First Place Senior AACA 1998. A five year restoration was completed in 1998. The body for this car is a genuine body transferred to this genuine original chassis.
