Description
Lot #1348 - Built at Ford’s San Jose, CA, assembly plant and then shipped to Shelby America, where it was completed to GT500 standards on June 19, 1967. Wearing Candy Apple Red paint over black upholstery, it is equipped with factory air conditioning, a not-often-seen feature that necessitated the addition of an oil cooler. Other features include outboard driving lights, a louvered hood, optional Kelsey-Hayes 5-spoke Mag Star wheels and a 3:50:1 rear-end ratio, which - in combination with its dual-quad 428ci Police Interceptor engine - gives this GT500 ferocious acceleration ability. Other options from the factory include shoulder harnesses, the Courtesy Light Group, Sport Deck rear seat, power front disc brakes, power steering, an AM radio, Interior Décor Group, tinted glass and a tachometer and trip odometer. The car’s second owner, a noted Shelby expert who owned the GT500 for more than 20 years, directed a concours-quality restoration that was completed in 2008, which saw the car restored to its original specifications. The car comes with extensive documentation, including a Deluxe Marti Report, Shelby American Production Order and Vehicle Invoice, specification sheets and more.
