Description
Lot #386 - This Ford pickup has received a restoration that was started several years ago by the previous owner. Within the last five years, all of the body panels, with the exception of the cab, were removed from the frame. Each panel was then painted and assembled back on the truck. The Flathead engine, with distributor in the front, was upgraded for a newer 1949 Flathead engine with the distributor on the side. It is now powered by a 239ci Flathead V8 engine with headers, dual exhaust and a 4-speed manual transmission. The pickup was also converted from 6-volt to 12-volt, and an alternator was installed. The exterior is finished in red and it includes gold pinstriping, chrome grille, correct-era Fulton sun visor and beauty rings. The exterior trim and front bumper have new chrome. The red and brown interior features the original instrument panel, new seat cover, new headliner and new panels. It rides on 6.50x16-inch 4-ply tires with Ford hubcaps.
