Lot #1350 - Known as “Shades of Blue,” this 1960 Buick Electra convertible went through a professional, no-expense-spared, frame-off restoration and custom build with 500 miles since completion. It is powered by a LT1 350ci V8 engine mated to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission turning a Ford 9-inch rear end. The engine features a March pulley setup, Be Cool aluminum radiator and a custom exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. It sits on a rear RideTech four-bar rear suspension with an air-ride system, and up front is a stock suspension with ShockWaves air ride. There are custom modifications throughout. An accentuated center belt line and custom made convertible top boot fabricated from three pieces of steel. The blue exterior paint is a base coat/clear coat House of Kolor custom blend. The power top is color-matched to the tan interior, which is finished in Palomino colored MB-Tex leather. The interior also features Wilton wool carpet, a custom console from a 1964 T-Bird and Acura Legend bucket seats. Other modern amenities include power steering, power disc brakes, power seats, power windows, air conditioning, and a stereo system with navigation and Bluetooth, movie-capable multiple-disc CD player and backup camera. It’s riding on chrome Foose Legend wheels, 18-inch front and 20-inch rear. It was the Street Rodder magazine cover car in January 2015. Winning numerous awards, the most prominent being the Best of Show and accompanying sweepstakes at the Grand Marshal Awards held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV. Other awards include being recognized as one of the five coveted mild Kustom picks at the West Coast Kustoms Cruisin Nationals, Best of Show at the Atlantis in Reno and finalist at the Peppermill.
