Description
Lot #647 - In 1968, Jaguar introduced the Series II E-Types, building on the growing legend that began with the Series I cars in 1961. It was the first year for uncovered headlamps, dual Stromberg carburetors (to meet US emissions regulations), and an alternator instead of a generator. A larger grille opening and a cross flow radiator with twin electric fans helped quell previous overheating problems, and higher rear-end gear ratios that improved off the line performance. This svelte cat is shown in sporting red on black leather, and is a premium example of the breed. The recipient of a full restoration, it is a stunning head-turner wherever it is taken. Even better, it is fully sorted out mechanically making it one of the best-driving E-Types you will have the privilege to experience. It would be an ideal choice for any number of vintage auto road rallies and shows that are becoming more and more popular every year. This XKE is a shining example of why these cars are such first-rate collectibles that people buy for display in their collections and for spirited driving alike. ****TITLE IN TRANSIT****
