Description
Lot #423 - This 1955 Studebaker is a radical custom nicknamed "The Spoiler." Over $80,000 and over 2,000 man-hours were invested in the build, with documentation and build photos included. It was a feature car in Studebaker Driver's Club Magazine "Turning Wheels" in December 2017. It’s powered by a fuel-injected LT1 5.7-liter V8 engine coupled to a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission, and is equipped with a Ford 9” rear end, 4-wheel disc brakes, Fat Man front end with rack & pinion power steering, adjustable air-ride suspension and 17” Weld wheels. An enormous amount of steel and fabrication work was performed to create the one-of-a-kind 4-passenger sport-truck-style body, which sports ’54 Studebaker sheet metal and chrome trim, and custom paint and pinstripes from top to bottom. The interior features leather bucket seats, power driver’s seat, custom console and door panels constructed with aluminum bases, tilt steering column, custom one-of-a-kind dash with Pontiac gauge cluster, auto-darkening rearview mirror, Ron Francis wiring and an AM/FM radio.
