Lot #445 - This well-documented 1995 Corvette ZR1 is one of 25 produced in Dark Purple Metallic and is serial #140 of 448 total produced in 1995, the last year of that run. This car started life as a PR car for GM for its first year. Then it was refurbished in Detroit and sold to well-known car technical writer Hib Halverson of Southern California, who owned it for more than 20 years. Approximately 2-1/2 years ago it was sold to an individual from Gainesville, FL, who parked it in his garage and drove it only 46 miles before selling it to its third owner. It is a matching-numbers car with the exception of one head, which was changed during a complete rebuild approximately 55,000 miles ago. The reliable and manageable Lotus-designed, four-overhead-cam, 350ci V8 engine features ported, polished and mated stock exhaust manifolds, and heat-wrapped 3" exhaust flowing into a 3" set of stock-looking Flowmaster mufflers. It’s backed by a 6-speed manual transmission with a Hurst/Reinhart short-throw shifter and an aluminum flywheel with McLeod clutch. This ZR1 features many upgrades, including modern Bilstein shocks with three electronic settings controlled from the cockpit, larger 1996 Grand Sport brakes and a 9-fin oil cooler, but maintains its original appearance. Inside it sports dual power seats, power locks, cruise control and air conditioning. The radio was professionally upgraded using the original speaker covers. The antenna only raises halfway. This Corvette includes a complete set of factory manuals, complete key sets with one factory fob and extra parts.
