Description
Lot #363 - First formed in 1993, Ford launched the Specialty Vehicle Team as an in-house tuner to maximize the performance of a select handful of their models. Known as SVT, the group had four core pillars for their cars: Performance, Exclusivity, Substance and Value. One of the first production offerings turned out under SVT was the 1993 Mustang Cobra. As the last year for the popular Fox Body, SVT engineers went to work modifying all performance aspects. The fuel-injected 5.0-liter Windsor V8 engine saw a power increase with GT40 high-flow heads, the drivetrain was strengthened with a modified BorgWarner T5 5-speed manual transmission and the suspension utilized specially designed components for better grip. Purchased new in Arizona by a Motorola executive for company use, this example has been under the care of the same owner since it was delivered. It wears most of its original Vibrant Red factory clear coat paint and retains the original cloth interior. There were only a handful of options available from the factory, and this car is equipped with several – including the preferred equipment group, front license-plate bracket, 4-way power driver’s seat and rear-window defroster. Additionally, the dealer installed window tint, remote lock/unlock with alarm and a trunk-mounted CD changer before delivery was taken. Since new, this Cobra has covered 31,000 actual miles and has always been in Arizona. It comes with all documentation from new, including detailed maintenance and service records, as well as the original Window Sticker and a sales brochure. During its life it was rear-ended twice. After the first time the bumper cover was replaced, and after the second the bumper cover was replaced again and the car was repainted in some areas; documentation for all repairs is included. CARFAX shows Arizona damage report on 05/16/1997: Accident reported with another motor vehicle.
