Lot #337 - This original 1980 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Indy Pace car has 2,240 original miles (the title reads mileage exempt). This is an original, one-owner Florida car. Under the Trans Am's turbo-specific hood, there is an all-original YL-stamped and 301T-branded turbocharged Pontiac 301ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. The Pontiac 301 was beefed up with a better block design, thicker gaskets, lower compression pistons, a mild camshaft, a rolled fillet crank, a fully baffled oil pan, a unique single-plane intake and an electronic spark controller in preparation for a Garrett TBO-305 turbocharger. Once the turbo was installed, it created a waste-limited 9 psi of boost producing 236hp and 345 ft/lbs of torque. Inside, this Trans Am features an Oyster interior with optional Doeskin vinyl and Hobnail cloth inserts. Being a one-owner car, the original oil filter and a sample of the oil were saved and are stored in an airtight bag in the trunk. Included in the sale are the original factory equipment tires mounted on the original wheels, Build Sheets, Window Sticker, Bill of Sale and original receipt for partial cash payment, correspondence letters to the customer from the dealership with original envelopes, original Florida registration certificate with tag sticker dated 1980, and the customer's obituary and vintage credit cards with the name on them.
