Description
Lot #698 - This one-of-a-kind “Bullitt” re-creation started with an S-Code Mustang GT. New materials and components were used to provide a true image of the cars used in the movie. A tremendous amount of time was spent researching the cars used in the actual movie. The car was disassembled and sanded to bare metal, all car badging holes filled with metal, body gaps fitted, marker lights corrected, and the whole thing finished in Highland Green Metallic paint with the correct exterior trim pieces. All chrome kept on the car was replated. Its American Racing Torq Thrust 16x8” wheels were painted with the correct Eastwood Charcoal Gray, then fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The interior was completely restored to movie specs, down to the wood-grain dash, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and center and overhead consoles. The interior also features Detroit Vintage electronic gauges and a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo/phone system with power antenna. Under the hood rests an 8-stack fuel-injected Roush 402-IR engine with custom “Bullitt” valve covers, body-colored K&N air filters and ceramic-coated headers. Also features a Flowmaster exhaust system, Billet Specialties black anodized aluminum pulley system and Classic Auto Air cooling system, Kevlar short-shift clutch, Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission, aluminum driveshaft and reinforced rear end with 3.50 gears. Other driving features include power assist rack & pinion steering, Wilwood Pro Series disc brakes, and a Total Control sway bar and suspension system. This Mustang has been kept in a climate-controlled collection and comes with Mustang GT parts, receipts and other information. A select offering from the Chip Watkins Collection.
