Description
Lot #709 - This limited-production 1969 Dodge Charger 500 has gone through a professional nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration. It is powered by a 426ci 8-cylinder HEMI engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle is equipped with performance 3.55 Sure-Grip differential and axle ratio, dual 4-barrel carburetors, console, AM radio, rear speaker, sport steering wheel and stripe delete. Riding on cast wheels with red line tires, it is an original factory HEMI-powered car. It won trophies both times it was shown at Concours d' Elegance events. Only 500 Charger 500 cars were produced in late 1968, and 67 were equipped with the 426ci HEMI engine. When ordered, it was fitted with flush-mounted grilles, special trim mountings, a flush-mounted rear window, and a shortened trunk lid designed for exceptional aerodynamics. This Charger 500 performs as it should with great power and speed. All gauges, controls, wipers, lights, heater, defrost, fan speeds and roll up windows function as they should. There is no rust on the original body, and the underside is detailed. It is finished in correct Green Metallic paint and shows nicely with the great body panel fitment and gaps. This car has a replacement block, but the original block comes with the sale with a stamping number that matches the car’s VIN (the original block is damaged but is correct to this car).
