Description
Lot #351 - 1931 Ford Model AA heavy-duty commercial tanker truck that received a complete, frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration. The truck is powered by a 201/40hp engine that was completely torn down and rebuilt. It has the 4-speed manual gearbox with reverse, electric start with a manual timing advance control lever and six brand-new tires. The brakes consist of four oversized mechanical drum brakes, which were all rebuilt. The engine compartment contains a two-blade fan with a mechanical water pump and oil pump, and a fuel shut-off. There is an under-dash choke rod below the diamond-formation three-gauge cluster. The interior was completely redone and is period-correct. The truck has an original 1930s three-compartment fuel tank that received a complete restoration with custom-painted letters in the Sinclair theme. The tank rests on all-new and varnished ash hardwood supports and side shelves. There are the original brass fuel valves at the rear. This truck is a quality piece of automotive and petroleum history.
