Lot #993 - This Concept/Dream Car is fully documented with 283-245 horsepower and a 4-speed transmission. Designed/created by Francis H. Scott, a GM stylist from the plaster/plastic department. The only one known to exist! "One of One". Unique rear exhaust exit. The one and only "Hide Away Hardtop" Flip-Top Corvette. Some of the Invitationals that this car has participated in are the Bloomington Gold Special Collection XIII "The Classics '53-'62", Chicago Vette Fest Nationals Showcase #SC94II-610, Corvettes at Carlisle, McDorman's Corvette Show, NCRS National Convention, Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. The car has been featured in Car Collector Magazine, September 1996, Corvette Fever Magazine January 1995 (Centerfold Feature), Vette Vues Magazine, January 1995 (4 pages), 1996 Barnes & Noble Corvette Calendar, Christie's catalog 2001, 1953-1962 Sportscar Color History Book, Historical Corvette Collection Video. Awards it received include: First prize in the DuPont paint "Top Gun Award". Displayed at 1996 Bloomington Gold Special Collection in honor and recognition of the many unsung heroes and employees of General Motors involved in the Corvette platform over the many years...especially Francis H. Scott, whose determination and 3,200 hour creation of this unique concept.
