Description
Lot #1224 - With a Golden Lion drivetrain, a tailored interior and 18” of sheet metal, this Chrysler was delivered to its first owner via Harger-Haldeman Chrysler in November 1958. More recently, it benefited from a body-off, rotisserie restoration that followed sandblasted sheet metal with multiple coats of primer and wet-looking Formal Black two-stage paint complemented by triple-plated chrome, professionally refinished stainless and correct Solex glass. Power is provided by a 413ci V8 Golden Lion engine that, in addition to being remachined, rebuilt and restored, is authenticated by a 1851629 casting number. The engine pushes power through a correct A488 TorqueFlite automatic transmission that’s sequenced to a Sure-Grip posi-traction rear differential and 3.31 gears. Handling is improved by correct Constant-Control power steering and correct center-plane drum brakes. Inside this coupe is a black and tan interior sporting Gary Goers swivel seating, a fold-down armrest and 6-way power adjustments for the driver’s seat. In front of the driver is a color-keyed dash with push-button transmission controls at the sides of the cockpit, and original door panels that frame factory power windows. The Chrysler’s sale includes restoration photos, restoration literature and a copy of the car’s original IBM card.
