Description
Lot #874 - This is a genuine, factory-produced, 138-code Chevelle convertible SS 396 with long-term ownership history, documented by its Protect-O-Plate with warranty booklet, original dealer folder and loan documents. It’s powered by its matching-numbers 396ci big-block engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission followed through to a 12-bolt heavy-duty rear end. It’s had a high-end refinish in its original exterior color of Ermine White done in a 2-stage base coat/clear coat paint, all color sanded to a mirror finish over a laser-straight body with nice panel fitment and nice chrome and stainless trim. The interior was restored back to its original color of two-tone Fawn and shows nicely with new dash bezels and chrome. Some notable options include: factory air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, power top, and Rally Wheels with correct bias-ply red line tires. The engine bay is fully detailed using correct GM-marked hoses, correct-dated plug wires, original-style tower clamps and correct finishes. This solid Super Sport was sold new at Ray Hamlin Chevrolet-Cadillac in Blackwell, OK and was used as a dealer demo until December 1966, when it was sold its first owner from Denver, CO. The first owner kept it until 1969, then sold it to the second owner, who retained it until 2012.
