Description
Lot #1069.1 - This 1969 K5 Blazer Resto-Mod is the product of over 1,200 hours invested in a complete frame-off build. The solid body retains nearly all of its original sheet metal, which was completely stripped from top to bottom. The underside was epoxy-primed and coated with U-Pol Raptor protective coating for chip and sound control. Dynamat insulation on the floor and firewall provides additional sound control. All metal was epoxy-primed and finished with BASF urethane paint. The frame, radiator support, inner fenders and axles are powder-coated. This Blazer is powered by a new GM Connect & Cruise 430hp LS3 engine and a 4L70E automatic overdrive transmission with the original NP205 transfer case. The engine is cooled by a DeWitt aluminum radiator. The front axle is upgraded with power disc brakes and a new posi-traction unit. The rear axle is upgraded with a new posi-traction unit and 4.11 gears. It also has all-new bearings, seals, axles, brake drums and five new alloy wheels with Goodyear tires. The interior includes all-new upholstery with high-back reclining seats, carpet and weatherstripping. It features a Vintage Air heating and cooling system, factory gauges in the dash, an Ididit tilt steering column and a reproduction AM/FM stereo. The car has approximately 200 miles since its completion in November 2018.
