Description
Lot #412 - This original, fully loaded 1972 Chevrolet Custom Sport Truck (CST) 4x4 Blazer with a full removable top spent its entire life on the West Coast until it was transported to South Florida in January 2019 by its current owner when he was transferred with the U.S. military. The CST/Cheyenne model includes lower wood-grain and tailgate moldings, deluxe walrus-grain seats, woodgrain inserts on the door panels, deluxe rear seat panels and full carpeting. It was the top-of-the-line model in 1972. This CST has 39,792 original miles and recently underwent a detailed nut-and-bolt, ground-up restoration to original GM specifications. The original Build Sheet remains in the glove box. The Blazer retains its complete original, matching-numbers drivetrain, including the 350ci V8 engine, Turbo 350 automatic transmission, transfer case and differentials. This Blazer was produced in August 1971 as documented on the driver’s-side door jamb making it an early production vehicle. The original blue, walrus-grain with white stitching upholstery on the seats is in new condition. The 15x8” deep-dish rims are wrapped with BFGoodrich all-terrain radial tires and topped with a set of NOS original hubcaps. The AM radio was replaced with a modern Bluetooth stereo that retains the look of the factory radio. The front Spicer hubs were rebuilt to include custom-made, one-off turn dials milled out of blue aluminum, replacing the plastic turn knobs. Additionally, the original air conditioning system has been updated and converted to modern R134, and dealer options were installed, including intermittent windshield wipers and headlight warning buzzer. This is a nicely detailed 1972 CST K5 Blazer in blue over a blue interior.
