Description
Lot #730 - This 1930 Ford Model AA 1-1/2-ton ice truck represents a piece of automotive and Ford history. Powered by a 200.4ci L-head 4-cylinder engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Built in August 1930, this truck has the updated commercial cab that was introduced in June of that year, as well as the dual rear wheels using 20” balloon tires on Budd rims. This truck features a solid front axle with transverse semi-elliptical leaf spring, live rear axle with cantilever leaf springs, and 4-wheel mechanical drum brakes. This Model AA is a two-time Grand National award winner, and recognized AACA National First Prize winner. It received the AACA Grand National First Prize in 1995 with radiator plaques to prove, and AACA National First Prize in 1994, both with subsequent Senior honors. A complete body-off restoration was performed and the truck runs and drives well, having travelled less than 250 miles since its completion. It’s been kept in a large and prominent collection and stored in a climate-controlled environment.
