Description
Lot #1306.1 - This 1966 Shelby GT350 SCCA B-production race car is fully documented in the Shelby American Registry and is accompanied by a copy of the original order form dated January 26, 1966. This GT350 was delivered to Archway Motors in Baltimore, MD, on February 10, 1966. It was purchased by its first owner, Yale Kneeland, a fellow racer with Mark Donohue. Kneeland acquired this car through the Dockery Ford racing team. This car was heavily modified, with such features as a full SCCA legal roll cage by Holman & Moody, deeper flared wheel wells to offset rear American Mag wheels and fully adjustable KONI shocks. This car secured the 1967 N.E. Division Production BP Championship. A full restoration began in 2008, and the car was fitted with a correct B-production engine, featuring many original Shelby external and internal engine parts. It’s powered by a 289ci V8 engine with a single 4-barrel carburetor mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It’s equipped with independent front suspension with unequal length A-arms and coil springs, and a live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs.
