Description
Lot #704 - A professional frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration was performed on this 1954 Chevrolet Corvette roadster. It’s powered by a 235ci 6-cylinder tri-power engine backed by a 2-speed automatic transmission. Originally a southern car sold by a dealership in the Atlanta area, this automobile was found in original condition with all its parts and pieces intact, and never modified or rebuilt. Every nut and bolt has been removed and reconditioned, or replaced to factory specifications. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt to factory specifications, and the fiberglass work included a stabilizer process to restore the fiberglass strength. The red paint has a mirror-like finish and every part is as it was delivered in 1954. Every step of the 13-month restoration, completed in December 2006, has been photo-documented. A show winner across the spectrum of show car venues, this Corvette’s accolades include AACA 2008 National Baumgartner and Senior Grand National Awards, NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold, Gold Spinner and Triple Crown Awards, Corvettes at Carlisle Best of Class, Best of Show, Corvette Homecoming Bowling Green Sans Pareil Diamond Certificate #001, Keels & Wheels Concours d'Elegance Best of Class Awards, ISCA Chicago 2008 Best Restored of Show, and it was a National Corvette Museum display car from 2008 to 2009.
