Lot #359 - This 1969 Lotus Europa S2 Type 65 Federal has undergone a complete frame-off restoration and is one of 865 produced. Restoration was recently completed with the fiberglass body meticulously restored and repainted to its original shade of Bahama Yellow. The metal frame was disassembled, blasted with a dustless blaster, epoxy-primed and repainted black. The R16 Renault 1565cc 4-cylinder engine was rebuilt with a new carburetor and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. New seats and door panels were built to match the original look and fresh carpet installed. The wood dash was handmade, and a new radio, dash pad and windshield were installed to complete the original look. The door hinges were upgraded to stainless steel to prevent future rusting, and the power window motors and regulators were restored. The original bumpers were rechromed as well. New 15" alloy wheels, tires and shocks make this car ready to drive. The transmission and brakes were serviced, and a new muffler was installed.
