Lot #365 - The 1965 Mustang saw the introduction of a new style, the 2+2 fastback. Originally named after the P-51 Mustang fighter plane, a Mustang horse served as the emblem. Painted in its factory shade of Rangoon Red, this 2+2 pony is powered by its matching-numbers 289ci 8-cylinder engine mated to an upgraded T5 5-speed manual transmission. It is equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, bucket seats, center console, dual red line tires and factory chrome sport-style road wheels.
