Description
Lot #691 - This is a highly customized 1991 NSX that underwent a professional, no-expense-spared, nut-and-bolt restoration with tasteful upgrades, bringing it to modern supercar specs. The overall build spanned 20 years and cost over $111,000 in parts alone. The 231-page build book includes the spec sheets for each part used in the build, as well as all receipts. On the outside, the car was taken down to the bare all-aluminum chassis, given several aerodynamic upgrades, including front and rear diffusers, hood and side skirts, and was color-changed to stunning Ferrari Modena Yellow. On the inside, it is outfitted with Sparco seats, Alpine DVD system, JL Audio subwoofer and CDT Euro surround sound speakers. The gauge cluster is custom made with Blitz BLM gauges on carbon fiber. The glass hatch was replaced with Lexan polycarbonate and custom holes were cut to flow air through the intercooler. The original engine was upgraded with Darton MID Sleeves installed at the Darton West Coast shop, taking it from a 3.0-liter to a 3.2-liter. The engine also features JE pistons, Ferrea valves, dual coil springs with titanium retainers and Comptech cam gears. The heads are ported and polished with a direct port wet-injection 75hp NOS system for the turbo spool using aqua-mist water/methanol injection, all of which is controlled by an electromotive TEC3 and custom wiring harness. The turbo system was custom designed and built, and consists of a Spearco intercooler, Stage 3 turbo T3/T4 by Performance Technique with custom exhaust and Comptech headers. The engine is cooled by a custom PWR radiator with oil bath, Comptech high-flow oil pump, SPAL fans and carbon-fiber duct to exhaust air out of the top of the hood. The original 5-speed manual transmission was upgraded with Type-R short gears and ring & pinion. The transmission casing was also replaced for snap ring manufacturing issues. All engine and transmission parts are cryogenic-treated and harmonically balanced. It uses KONI coilovers and other suspension upgrades to keep it planted when cornering hard. It rides on Volk GTC rims wrapped in Bridgestone Pole Position tires, and is outfitted with Tarox Big Brake Kit 10-piston calipers in front and 6-piston calipers in the rear with brake bias valves from front to rear.
