Description
Lot #452 - This highly detailed and restored 1927 Moreland RR6 gasoline tanker truck underwent an extensive 12-year restoration with correct presentation and attention to authentic details in mind. The truck is a great piece of automotive transportation history with 11 miles since the completion of its restoration. This truck is powered by a matching-numbers Continental straight-6 engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. The engine and all components are new or original restored. This detailed truck retains its original Union Oil Safety aluminum brass-labeled kit and brochure, as well as a first-aid package that includes bandages and a pair of scissors and tweezers from 1927. The labels, dash plates and the original information plates have all been restored and attached correctly. It rides on its original steel wheels with new, correct tires, and the spare still wears its original tire. The truck bed is finished and sealed in bright Roman Red paint, and the decking and roof ribs were custom-made and sealed in clear coat. All of the hardwood on this truck is solid oak. The main gas tank is a three-division gas unit and has three openings with large brass fittings on top and three rear outlets for filling in the back. This truck also features a filling hose, brass inlet and outlet, and a side tool box with authentic period-correct tools and sleeves for caps and lugs. The lock on the side front step tool chest is authentic as well, with a solid brass lock and key.
