Description
Lot #159 - This 1959 Apache fleetside pickup is an example of the last year of the body style called the Task Force Series by Chevrolet. This truck was meticulously restored to original specifications, including the Sherwood Green exterior color. The truck is powered by its original matching-numbers 235ci Thriftmaster 6-cylinder engine, producing 135hp, coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission with a column shifter. Produced at the St. Louis, MO, Chevrolet Assembly plant, this pickup spent most of its life as a farm truck for the same family in Missouri. Its complete restoration began with sandblasting the bare frame, and every component has been restored, rebuilt or replaced as needed to bring it to like-new condition. The restoration was completed in 2011, and the truck has less than 1,500 miles since. This pickup has been upgraded with a stock-looking modern AM/FM radio, stock-looking distributor with a Pertronix electronic module, 3:42 ratio ring & pinion gear, and 3-point seatbelts/harnesses. This truck has won many awards at various shows, including the Santa Fe Concorso in 2013, an invitation-only concours event, and was the only truck invited to the show. It received an award presented by Al Unser Senior.
