Description
Lot #655 - This 1965 Porsche 365C is shown on the Kardex Build Sheet from the factory to be a Light Ivory color with black Naugahyde interior, and now wears Koenig Blue paint over a blue leather interior. It has spent 17 years undergoing restoration, during which time it was taken down to bare metal and, while the car showed no collision damage, some panel sectioning was made due to corrosion in the original pieces. The sectioned panels were butt-welded, metal-worked, filed and prepped. Some lead work was done around the doors, but no plastic fillers were used. The original coupe roof was cut for the electric sunroof installation. The air conditioner is a Japanese unit that is mounted directly off the rear of the engine. The evaporator nested under the steering gear, and the condenser in the front trunk area are a custom design by a company in Dallas, TX. Fog lights were added along with headrests, a wood steering wheel and a 12-volt generator. The wiring harness is new from YnZ. The radio was reconditioned in Germany. The custom engine compartment features padded insulation, which color matches the interior. This Porsche is powered by a 1720cc 4-cylinder engine with Weber carburetors a John Wilhoit twin ignition backed by a 4-speed manual transmission.
